HAHAHAHAHA! Look at this: http://cgi.ebay.com/US-TYPE-COIN-SET-INDIAN-HEAD-WHEAT-CENT-BUFFALO-NICKEL-/130433087063?pt=Coins_US_Individual&hash=item1e5e6af657#ht_4650wt_1046
And many people search the highest price option just for grins. A newbie finds something like this and he will make an offer, because in the listing he clearly says to offer what you think is fair for what is being offered. The only bad thing about this are the amount of fees that the seller has to pay for a listing like that.
This month and last month, the only fees would have been for the additional pics. Everything has free insertion fees for the rest of this month with no restrictions up to 100 items per seller.
Cool, he's saving money, now. The point I originally made is still valid, he has been doing this thing for months. (When there were insertion fees)
I have bought from in the past he is honest and easy to contact, but I never have asked why he does this sometime. He's been posting auctions like this for better than a year and he sells alot of these lots OBO at fair prices I think he just does it for a gimick.
Ask him, tell him about the forum, tell him to stop by... Wouldn't mind hearing from him, and if he actually makes a nice size profit.
Considering the fact this set is going from $7 to $25, and someone even paid $50, i`d say this seller is the one that should be laughing.
As silly as it is, that last negative he got is undeserved... I mean come on, who in their right mind looks at those coins and thinks $50 is a fair price? What the heck was he expecting?
I tried to counter with .26 for 10, but it kept trying to move the decimal. Ridiculous Buy it nows are frequently done as a marketing ploy. Now if Ebay startes charging a listing fee based on the Buy it Now offer, it would stop VERY soon.
Same guy. Certainly not BU anymore.... doubt it ever was to start with. http://cgi.ebay.com/1917-D-TYPE-2-S...93?pt=Coins_US_Individual&hash=item51930b07b1
I wonder what this dude would do if somebody actually bought it? I'd like to buy it, let the guy get all excited, then return it after seven days saying I wasn't happy with the steel penny.
