Check out this awesome circulated wheat cent dated 1953. Only worth about 3 cents.. http://cgi.ebay.com/1953-one-cent-penny-/230529892053?pt=Coins_US_Individual&hash=item35aca6fed5
I sent the guy an offer for $0.01.... let's see what kind of e-mail I get back...maybe he'll explain why it's worth so much to him...
What was that thread the other day, why do so many people bash ebay, or something like that. This is the answer...
Looks like all of you overlooked the fact that it's the rare "lincoin penny one cent". Says so right in his description. It's not a Lincoln cent. Hence the higher value.
Usually sellers do this to bring attention to their store... in this case, the seller doesn't have much os a store with just two items..
I see nothing rare about this cent. Apparently, this guy thinks he has something worth a billion dollars. Also, I see nothing wrong with the coin itself, therefor I see no reason to say it is not a penny.
I received a counter offer for this uber penny cent of $99,999,98... I think I should keep submitting offers for 1 cent or penny... which ever is lower in value til he gets the price down to a reasonable price...this could take a while...
So let's see... -He wants $4.50 for shipping, when he could just send it through USPS for 44 cents. -He has a Buy It Now or Best Offer of 100k, which is just used so people will look at the auction and find out why it is so crazily priced, but his lowest counter offer so far was 2 cents less that the Buy It Now price, $99,999.98. -It is worth about 3 cents, yet the guy thinks it is worth, correct me if I'm wrong, 3,333,333.3x that amount. One word for this guy: CRAZY!!!
Not only is he "preparing" for the apocalypse, but he is giving all of his personal info on the page, including name, full address, and phone #!!! SUSPICIOUS...
