Hi folks, is there a TPG Service which grades smaller numismatic gold or silver bars? Would be cool to see this kind of stuff inside a slab. Thanks for your help.
I do not know of any. Honestly, that is why gold coins are popular instead of bars. They can easily be certified as authentic.
Not unless they are official coins or medals of a country. The Perth mint in Australia has recently started issuing 1 oz gold bars denominated as $AU100. NGC will graded these. Rather strangely, they cram them in an insert with a round, rather than rectangular, hole; so the coin/bar is held by its corners. Apmex and other vendors sell them. Cal Here's a link to the silver version in a NGC holder. Proverbial square peg in a round hole! Link: https://www.govmint.com/2018-australia-1-dollar-1-oz-silver-dragon-bar-ngc-ms70-first-releases
PCGS also slabbed some one oz gold bars from the 9/11 twin towers recovery. Once again rectangular bars on a round hole.
PCGS does as well. Both grade pretty much any shape they can possibly fit in a slab when it comes as a coin like that.
