Using tesorillo.com to look at reverses and match it with the bust on the obverse, I looked it up on wildwinds.com and came to the conclusion that this coin is: Valentinian I AE3. Struck 367-375 AD. DN VALENTINIANVS PF AVG, diademed draped bust right / GLORIA ROMANORVM, Valentinian walking right, dragging captive and holding labarum, O-F II across fields. Mintmark LVGA. RIC IX Lyons 20a type xvii (b) I worked in Gimp 2 to soften the edges from the original cropping as @Trebellianus suggested. I think it turned out pretty good. The coin itself, is that dark chocolate brown so I did not lighten the image to make it easier to see. I wanted to keep it as close to true as possible.

The problem with this coin is that much of the mintmark is off the flan and, in this case, you need to see it to make a complete ID with RIC number -- unless in hand you are completely sure it is LVGA.
Yes, this. The roman numeral designation of the officina ("OF II") narrows it down a bit. Which other mints used this besides Lugdunum and Arles?
the way it is split, O in left and F II in right field, means it is Lyons; but you need to see all the exergue to assign a specific RIC number.
I LOVE seeing a new person put in the interest and work you have shown. Many of your peers will say you are putting a dollar's worth of effort into a penny's worth of coin and I say that is exactly what we all should be doing even if we have $1000 coins and a million dollars of effort. I do disagree on the lighting. When I pick up a dark coin in hand and have trouble seeing details I move to a place with stronger light and wiggle the coin to catch the best angles for detail.
