What you are seeing is flat and shelf like which means its mechanical doubling and adds no more value to the coin.

I'm not so confident what we're seeing is "flat and shelf-like", although I'm also not ready to say, with absolute certainty, that it's not. Better photos wouldn't hurt the cause either way....

    Have you checked here?

I am not sure about that. There is separation at the top of the letters which would be conducive with a doubled die. It almost appears that there is a double eyelid and at the bow by the date there is also separation. But I would like to be conclusive.

With the new photos it appears it may be, the first images of the liberty to me appeared like md but the date looked like the real deal. I'm sure someone else with more knowledge than me on dd's will chime in soon.

This looks like it is the 1943-S WDDO-001. It is very similar in appearance to the 1943-P FS-103

According to The Cherrypicker's Guide, the 1943 series Nickels have a Master Die Doubled in Liberty, which would explain the similarity of this S mm to the P mm.

What's the dot behind the 9?

Yup, you are correct Rich, I didn't go any further down that page beyond the DDO-001.

It's a chip off of the date, you can see the indent in the 9 ..

Well I am happy I have kept it in an airtite. I have some other beautiful nicks I'd like to show. But they don't fall under the error forum
