Thin/no edge lettering and slight angle on Monroe dollar error?

Some of the edge lettering on the coin does not properly line up(sort of at a small angle) and it is very thin in some places. There is also what seems to be a ridge along the center of the rim edge. Is this an error and what caused this?

Did someone try to slice the coin in half?

What does the obverse and reverse look like?

 

I'm wondering about it being struck on a type 1 blank that still shows the edge shear from the blanking process.

 

Maybe it was struck on a defective planchette. Looks like it is about to split. Would be a great coin if it did split.
