I don't mean to sound rude, but I think you're just seeing what you want to see honestly,

Do you think you may be overestimating the preponderance of rare die varieties? What do you think the odds are that you found 2 in 1 day?

Hmm, 2 in one day? I don't remember finding 2 in one day......I knew the 1st wasn't a huge find.....if it were a DDO?? I simply wanted to know if what I saw in it was doubling then I was a little more educated in what to look for And let me ask you,Did you not check out every little thing you thought might habe been doubled.....well.....What's the diffrerence now? Because it's me? a newbie as we all were.......And I've heard constantly that a poster gets angry b/c they don't hear what they wanted to hear.....well no,Actuallly I've been down on a little the past few days and still tried to be nice & cordial and actually posted in another forum because "It petrified me to even read a reply" in this one because it seems like no one has a chance...It's bad enough that I lost my daughter & Grandsons a few months ago so to try & occupy my mind for a while I "took up the hobby of roll searching" and am trying to learn what to look for in a DD so Thank God for being shot down yet again & showing me the hobby isn't fun anymore........:hail:

Dude, just relax, you don't need to be so touchy. I didn't mean anything bad by it-- everyone has found a coin they thought was something more than just a common variety. I'm just asking if you think you may be seeing what you want because repeatedly getting yourself excited and then crashing is not going to help you. Sorry if I didn't say it the right way.

No, there isn't any doubling on the coin. Sorry, but that is my opinion. Sorry to hear about your losses, that is very sad.

If roll searching takes your mind away for a while, than that is what you should do. Rather than just looking for DD, try to get a set of incremental amounts of wear for a grading set, or a different level of red --> brown coloration. Many of the DD of the 60/70 era S series are not prominent except for the "biggies", and with the naked eye, almost anyone would notice, so there aren't many in rolls.

Here are a RPM and also DDO, I found searching a bag of 1970S cent. Once you see one that is different you can see others. Before I started the bag, I researched every RPM and DD for 1970-S, so the going was slow in the beginning.

and a DDO on the L of Liberty is 1968-S rolls

very minor finds, but they made the variety news, so I feel good about it. Keep doing something to make the day worth while. No one , not even my opinion above can "make" you or anyone feel bad or lessened, it is only if we allow words to affect us do we fall prey to ourselves. Best of courage!
