I have a 1973 penny, where about a third of the rim is raised (or two thirds of the rim is thinner than usual.) Is this normal, or an error. It looks like the machine pressed too hard, or maybe it missed part of the edge. The error isn't very visible unless you look at the edge, but you can feel that it's raised.
i had a cent like that before. it seemed it made 1 side heavier. you could easily stand the coin on the rim on that one side.
