    Thanks Mat, I just have a special feeling toward double-faced coins

    Mine is TRP 19 COS 6 (114-115 AD) while yours is TRP 15 COS 5 (110-111). Your first is COS 3 which was a one year spacing so is from 100 AD. We can watch Trajan age and Melqart-Heracles develop an increasingly tough guy look. Not all of these coins are dated and not all that were are still legible. I prefer examples like ours that are even if they have some wear like mine. Both of yours are quite nice. I still claim mine is 'best' because the obverse legend includes (at 2 o'clock) the title 'APICT' ='best' which was not used most of the time. This coin seems very immodest by making such a claim.:)

    Nice tetradrachms (from Tyre).

    The only Trajan tetradrachms I've ever accumulated are from Alexandria (my guests but not my pictures):

    As an aside, I admire the detailed legends found on many of the Trajan coins.

    I do not have a tetradrachm of Trajan...but I do have a didrachm.

    Trajan Silver didrachm, Ratto (1928) 2657; Sydenham 165 (refs. Ratto); Metcalf Conspectus 54b (same); RPC online 2987 (same); BMC Galatia p. 52, 49 var. (no drapery), VF/F, fine style high-relief bust, toned, well centered and struck, slight porosity, some marks, 6.259g, 21.6mm, 180o, Cappadocia, Caesarea mint, 98 - 99 A.D.; obverse AYT KAIC NEP TPAIANOC CEBACT “GEPM”, laureate bust right, slight drapery on far shoulder; reverse “DHM EX” “UPAT” B (tribunus plebis, consul secundum), Eleutheria (Liberty) standing left, wearing chiton and peplos, pileus liberatis (freedom cap) in right hand, rod in left hand; extremely rare;
