    I love hearing stories like this. It just shows that some people have "hit the jackpot" with unusual finds. Wonder how old the daughter is and what she will do with the coin?

    This is awesome that someone can find that in circulation. But the real question is... if you were to spend it, what would the face value be?

    Sounds like a Grandpa stash. I hope my young-ins take a look when I am gone.

    Leave a hand written note to whoever finds that stash. Just let them know it's likely worth more than face (if you decide not to sort and appraise yourself). Do that for each stash you've got. It'll at least throw up a red flag to them.

    Even if my descendants in the not-very-near future are numismatists and find my stash, they will be disappointed due to the fact that it is just a bunch of New Orleans halves-all just fillers or cleaned.
