I always thought this was an excellent representation of her.

    Excellent isn't always accurate.

Representations are nice to have. I'm a visual person. In high school, decades ago, I loved the assignment in English class in which we paged through magazines, cutting out images to represent the characters in Silas Marner. There's a nice representation of her and her son outside the North Dakota Capitol Building in Bismarck, a bronze statue.

Of course, we have no photographs of her as she died long before that was possible. No one knows where she was buried, either. In fact, no one likely knows how her name was spelled or pronounced, and several versions are in use today.

But her contribution to Lewis' and Clark's journey of discovery can probably never be fully appreciated. And I appreciate the photo @Islander80-83!
