Here it is... I noticed this on ebay... Only $35,999... amazing deal... I have to buy it... so rare... The label says it all... Genuine - damage, meaning it's an extremely rare mint error... XF-detail, meaning it has exeptional detial for the grade... I know I have to buy it... I can't let another collector get their hands on this...
I can't believe they paid to have it slabbed... ... oh wait... this is eBay... yeah, I can believe that they did.
Nah... that's definitely a mint error... how could that possibly happen outside the mint? I think it's worth way more than what he's trying to sell it for...
Sometimes sarcasm goes over well here, and in others not so much. Kudos for your efforts to keep a dying art form alive.
That's one expensive PMD quarter. And it's one of a kind, so worth every cent. NOT I think I'll make a few and have them slabbed to supplement my meager income.
I love the description... "You are looking at a one of a kind 1989-D 25 Cent Coin. You can clearly see the Eagle on the back has no head, its completely headless. There are also several missing letters on the back of the coin on the word EPLURIBUS and on the word UNUM, as well as the word “STATES” which seems to have a missing/damaged letters. The right wing of the eagle also appears to be damaged. I've never seen a coin like this in all my years of collecting/hunting for coins and this is definitely a unique one of a kind coin to add to your collection if you are a true coin collector. I am certain I will never obtain another coin like this, once it’s sold then it’s gone forever. Pictures show all the detail, PCGS Authenticated. No Returns, No Refunds. All sales are final. I have ZERO negative feedbacks."
Seller’s response after I messaged him that he’s selling lies and putting coin collectors in a bad light. I went ahead and wrote a product review for that coin. Sadly, it won’t let me do it for the others. You should all give it one star and call it out (don’t insult the seller or they’ll not post it).
Maybe the person who just happened to have tried drilling a hole in it, then sent it to PCGS to get graded and then said it was a headless eagle. WHAT A SCAM!!!!!!

Did you see his other listings? Lots of scamming going on there. It let me write a review for the half dollar. Hopefully it helps stop someone from buying from him.
@Seattlite86 I just did the same as you did. You can check my post there now. We will see what happens.
Thanks. I wish eBay made it easier to report guys like him, but they like people like him, because it makes them money.
One of his other with doubled die date and doubled mintmark. This coin looks familiar to me. https://www.ebay.com/itm/1969-S-1C-...177510?hash=item33e2aad0e6:g:89QAAOSwjbtainY0
@Seattlite86 I just did the same as you did. You can check my post there now. We will see what happens. I wish I had kept track of the "Rare Forging Error" by "crushfresh" on Listia that I posted about here. He has over 100 pages of listings at 10 per page with no way of separating them by category. I wanted to tell any eventual buyer what they had gotten themselves into. I would have gone up against him and Listia if needed. Trouble over there is, you can hide comments and block everyone who does not agree with you. Fast and loose over there.
This is the message I got back. "Yes damage means damage Sherlock, which exactly is why I wrote Damage XF details in the headless coin, are you mad? Don’t you got other things to do? Like actually doing some progressive with yourself rather than messaging a seller on eBay who is minding his own business and doing honest selling? Like damn, get off my nuts"
I didn't look at his other listings, but I see no lies in his description of the headless eagle quarter.
I do not believe that happened at the Mint, not even a strike through. It should have been a rejected submission.
