Anyone see any really low serial numbers with the new 2009A $100 notes (under#100). I haven't been looking that hard but I haven't seen them yet.
I havent. Last I heard low serials weren't yet released. It's possible they might not be released any time soon, except for some kind of BEP collectors item.
Thanks funkee. I've been watching the BEP website and haven't seen a low-serial offering yet for the new $100s even though they had them for the $5 thru the $50. I think they had those offerings when the bills were first distributed so I don't know if they'll have such an offering for the $100, but who knows for sure. Strange that we haven't seen anything below #100 yet.
I know that in the past low serial numbers were saved in sheets and give as gifts to important politicians. Perhaps they are doing the same. After all this was a pretty radical redesign.
If by "in the past" you mean 1929, sure. Hasn't happened in a long time, and wouldn't be likely to fly today what with ethics rules and all....
