Found this Probus thing on my kitchen floor when I got home just a bit ago.

Chewed up! No damage to coin.

The two usual suspects when something gets chewed up....

Max: A notorious floor soiler (we don't have carpet for a reason) and leg huncher, but not much a paper chewer.

    And then we have Rosie.

Several pieces of paper and cardboard in her bed. One little piece in her beard!

    Solved.

The first year and a half or so I was collecting coins I would put my coins in cardboard 2x2 flips. I've been reshooting older coins (that are worth messing with) and putting them in clear non-PVC coins like the rest of my stuff.

I just had a few coins setting out on a shelf in my office. Don't leave your coins you plan to reshoot (one of these days...I'm working on it, I'm working on it) on a low shelf if you have dogs!

I can see her eyes telling you it wasn't her while her tail wags telling you how much she really, really loves you.

We had an office dog in Germany named Nate. On someone's birthday, one of the wives baked a cake. But first we had an office meeting behind closed doors. When the meeting was finished and we emerged to the outer office, more than half the cake was eaten. Now who could have done such a thing? Looking at Nate, tail wagging his entire body, and his eyes saying "wasn't me", but frosting and cake crumbs all over his face. Being an office full of investigators, we were stumped as to who was the culprit.

And, just to make this coin related, here is a Probus:

Glad your Probus survived! Bet you couldn't ever be unforgivably mad at either Max or Rosie - they are both too cute! Your situation does remind me of a major slab problem I had back in 2012 during my old slab happy days:

We had just gotten a new 2 month old pup who decided these were hers. She carried them out of the study and into the backyard where they survived a decent chewing and an overnight stay. I'm sure I wasn't too pleased then but my daughters (now 5 year old) Border Collie, Scout, sure turned out to be a swell dog!

Coins are not safe around cats either.

They were just waiting for me to leave the room so they could solve the mystery of what's in the red coin box.

My coins are safe with my dog and two of my three cats. It is the third cat that is a little thief. About a year ago I found a 1959-D quarter in a coinstar and put it on the table to photograph it for the found in the coin machine thread here on CT. My beast, Lyosha, took off with it and finally dropped it on the floor. All three of my cats are black cats.

Just a slight correction to your title.
    That is a 2x2, not a flip.
Otherwise I enjoyed your post and all the follow-ups.

I read this thread laughing the whole way.
My cat spends a lot of time in my cave. He'll usually curl up near me when I'm in there. I never had suspect of him getting on my desk or messing with my stuff.
One day walking through my den and stepped on a airtite holder that I knew was on my desk recently. My den is on the other side of my house from my cave. The airtite was empty thank goodness.
So you know I've always been a dog person but this cat for some reason I'm very fond of.

To keep it legal. My Probus

You may have just stumbled on a new way to clean coins. Next time let it complete the cycle and see how it comes out. :)

In the last three weeks my Shiba Inu, Chippy, has broken two decorative jars, shewed two of my ties, ripped a hole in one of my dress pants, made a couple of holes in the backyard, and last night jumped on my bed and peed on it as I was getting ready to go to sleep.

Anyone wants a free slightly destructive Shiba Inu? He'll look cute and make you smile with a those cute puppy eyes as he destroys things around the house.

I love him, so I'm not mad, but I did sign him up last night for a dog training course. Hopefully it helps.

    FB_IMG_1499460487127.jpg
Here he is on the 4th of July.

    FB_IMG_1499460560961.jpg
And here he is making yet another hole in my back yard.

And here is my Probus. Did I mention how well behaved my Probus is? He's yet to make any holes in the backyard, he doesn't shew my ties, and he most definitely hasn't peed on my bed yet. :p

LOL! Yes, they're jealous. They know that whatever is in that box is an unwelcome competitor for your attention.
