Okay a friend of mine who owns a small shop bought what he at first assumes to be a 20 dollar gold piece from an elderly man that frequents his store for 25 dollars. So he shows me the coin and the 1st thing that hits me is its a reverse blank flat with no rim some pitting. The second thing that threw me for complete loop was that it had been stamped as a 1921 morgan silver dollar for a front and yet the coin appears to be made from gold  .

I told him to leave the coin in its sleeve get it tested as soon as he could for its actual metal content and graded. If it turns out to be genuine I'll snap some photos and post them. As this would be the most bizarre error I have seen to date.

Howdy Jinx - Welcome to the Forum !!

From the sound of things I think your friend has purchased a novelty item - not a coin. They are quite common and can be purchased from various companies for about $5 or so. I doubt the item in question is actually made of gold but it may be gold plated. The composition of the item may never be know without extensive testing, but by weighing & measuring it you can usually tell a lot.
