I love this: "Opens at .01. Problem free nice coins" If that is problem free-- I think that I am rich! Break out the metal detector, I need some more problem free coins.
IMO This guy obviously knew his coin was not an 1856 FE. I doubt that many proof '56 got into circulation and remained there for the length of time it would take to be degraded and worn to this degree. The Redbook has an 1856 in G4 worth $6500. So he's Ok to let it go for $200? I don't think so. Bruce
Some collector's getting dupped. I meant that if the seller really believed it to be an 1856 FE, then he'd have a high reserve on it so he would get a fair price for it. But it being an 1858 in poor to fair condition he IS making $199 for it and some unknowing collector IS GETTING dupped. Bruce
Ahhhh, another happy ending. Just goes to show, it is easy to make a fortune in coins, unlike what everybody says. do that once a day.
I've got a few 1858 in G-F. Now how can I obliterate the last 8 and list it as an 1856(?) Of course if that coin pictured is problem free then mine must be MS65. Just a shame.
Sure, as long as you are willing to take advantage of folks it's easy. But I gotta look in the mirror every day.
Just like the guy with the roll crimper who puts a vdb reverse on one end.... " possible SVDB ", sells those $15 rolls every other day for $100 I always say to myself, wow, this will end soon...after enough people get burned, the not so smart pool of ebay buyers has to eventually run dry... looks less and less like thats going to happen
