Generally collectors like cac in terms of somehow being the final authority when it comes to certified coins and where a given PCGS or NGC coin stands in terms of being a high end B or A coin or a "C" or B- coin. Some major dealers and collectors though have been skeptical. I like the fact that they are willing to put an offer behind their stickers. On their site they used to say that coins that do not pass with them are basically worth "Bluesheet" which can be substantially under Greysheet bids. Also I find the cutesy way they wrap the coins and send them back in their funny little square boxes with rubber bands to be weird--who came up with that dumb idea? Also the fact that they are checks only, no credit cards especially as they've raised their prices to double what they used to be strange when all the other grading companies accept credit cards.
Credit cards have an additional transaction cost, so I can see why they would not want to use them. Since they are the only reputable company performing the service that they offer, that gives them leverage to set terms for their transactions.
A lot of misinformation/misunderstanding in that Post, but maybe if you visit CAC.com and proceed to the Education forum and post your Thread there, you will benefit from members assisting you and you will be able to increase the accuracy of your statements in the future.
And you have no evidence to back up you assertion? They may have changed what they used to have on their site as they are looking to "go big". As for the credit card transaction costs, 3% or so is not a lot of money when you double your fees! It seems that some here have been "drinking the koolaid" of cac. I can see them being useful for really expensive coins, but for the $100-$300 coins not so much. I find the snobby attitudes of those who only want the "best" to be a major turn-off in any hobby.
No, no evidence, I am not legit, and just tend to believe what somebody like JA states. Stupid on my part, I know, but waddayagonnado with an old guy like me? Happy Bashing...you will do well and are a tribute to the hobby. Truth in editing: added a "k" where required. PS: Don't forget to post your original soliloquy @CAC.com, for interesting discussions about same.
