Rick, have you thought about writing a numismatic blog about U.S. banknotes? Well, the crowd who publish the Krause & Pick catalogues are extending an invitation to get a blog set up that will be hosted on their website for free. You can contact George Cuhaj at george.cuhaj@fwpubs.com before Tuesday 12th. of June.

the last ones...whew... that was some work....LOL

Aidan...I have not given much thought to that...I must say I am more of a collector than an author.

Rick, being an author is a skill that some of us learn through collecting. Some are better at it than others.I don't claim to have any special literary skills at all myself.

You could post photos of your notes on a blog & tell other people about them.Who knows,it might stir a bit of interest.

Well Aidan, I agree with you on that one...working in Pharmaceutical Science, I am exposed to many technical publications and I have written a few applications notes myself...
I play in this Hobby of mine as a means to take my mind off the everyday senario's that wear me down mentally.

I am sure you understand that. I do read about the notes, the history behind the Gentlemen on the notes and when they held office. Pretty cool stuff..One day I can only hope that my son may write about the collection I have built for him and what he thinks that it meant to me.

    Regards,

Nope, not a pirate insignia... just the ship patch from my days in the gator navy. The name comes from my interest in pirate history/movies... long before the recent popularity of pirates. Wow, you get that clear of a picture from your Nikon! I'll have to try mine and see if I can get some as clear. Do you do anything in particular with the lighting?

Hey Twiggs....that is a nice looking note and it is by far the most $$$$ of the collection thus far...
The 3rd Issue with Grant and Sherman on the note is in excess of 3K in gem condition.

I am happy to be collecting the 4th and 5th issues only...who knows what the future holds???
