Don't know how to use that LINK thing so I'll just describe this. I have AOL. This morning when I first turned it on the main page had an article supposidly by THE MOTLEY FOOL. It was an article about the penny. There were places where you could get in on a pole about the penny such as if you saw one on the ground would you pick it up. Another of the poles asked how do you handle the penny but non of the listed reasons were for a coin collector. There was a few other poles asking you to answer questions such as how many pennies have been produced since they were first started. Like I said I don't know how to produce a link thing but if anyone knows how, try to post a link to that site. It may be interesting to see what is printed about the future of the Cent.
The article on Aol by The Motley Fools was posted on this forum a few weeks ago - still - the thought of losing the penny is sad
Still don't understand what URL means, how it works, howto use it. As I get older I see why us really old people end up asking kids how to do stuff. Anyway since that Motly Fool thing was already here, I'll just go back to spending my pennies.
The URL is the web address it's the www.cointalk.org. It is an acronym for Uniform Resource Locator. To show us a link at CoinTalk: First, copy the URL from the address bar (at the top of the browser). Then, click on the globe with the link while posting. Paste (ctrl-v) the URL into the box. Once you click okay, you will see some text and some will be highlighted. There type click here, or something like that so we can see what you want us too.
The Kid is right.....just go to the page you are talking about.....go up near your BACK button and see the address......www.cointalk.org click on that address and it will be highlighted.....right click and hit copy.....then come here and click to make a post and right click and hit paste... Speedy
I don't think you all know just how old I am. I printed out those instructions and will study what is explained. Then I'll call in a neighborhood kid and ask him to explain it all. In the mean time thanks for the help but I'll just keep doing what I know how. I remember telling a kid once that when I was a kid there wasn't even a thing called a TV. The kid asked me what did I hook my Intendo up to. What I mean is this stuff is getting away from me. that's why I like coins. They aren't complecated.
Ah....you are never to old to learn.....and if you ever need help you just let me know. I'll try my best to help anyway I can! Speedy
Carl, I remember exactly where I was and what I was doing when news of the attack on Pearl Harbor came over the radio. Unless you share that memory, you're quite a bit younger than I am. I'm not technologically incompetent, my same-age friends aren't technologically incompetent, and I really don't appreciate being stereotyped that way.
