    Where are these coins from? I've seen Atargatis riding a lion on bronzes of Hieropolis and Cyrrhestica in general, but I'm not familiar with the second type.

    Huh. Very interesting! I've never seen the type. I assume Atargatis is one of the gods on the thrones. Is the other Zeus-ammon?

    Yes, I meant to say Zeus-Hadad, not Zeus-Ammon. The local deities were appropriated by the Romans into their pantheon, so on Roman provincial coins we also have to speak of Tyche-Atargatis. She is seated on the right, turreted - as Tyche usually is. Zeus-Hadad is on the left.
