I started to collect the state quarters sometime time ago. Last summer, I came across this quarter and was going to just spend it because it had been so warn. In fact it was so warn that words were missing. But further examining the coin, I noticed that the coin itself sustained little damage... in fact there are NO scratches where the words were supposed to be. I did my homework and realized what had happened to the coin. Now, although I realize that it carries no premium prise on the market, this coin is priceless to me in the sense that it made me take a closer look at ALL the pocket change that goes through my pocket. Not too much later, I also found this quarter... somewhat off center
