Anyone see it! Dang it! I just missed this show, what a weirdo this guy was killing coin shop owners. Oh well, they'll show it again in a couple of hours! https://coinweek.com/people-in-the-news/crime-and-fraud/2015-coin-shop-murders/ http://www.tv.com/shows/body-of-evidence/the-coin-shop-killer-2736711/
This is such a shocking story. 1 of the dealers on this list I knew personally. Jordan Allgood from St. George, Utah. He was my coin dealer and friend. I miss him terribly. He was a great man. He sold me a lot of coins and taught me about coins too. His best friend Troy took over the coin shop.
My local coin dealer was murdered in 1979. I think my 1916 D Mercury was in his collection. Had to sell my 1st collection to him to pay for a mobile home. His eyes opened wide when he saw my Fine-Vf dime that I found when I was 16. RIP Carl. Tri-Willow murders. Rome NY.
Didn’t see the show, but read (or maybe saw? the firsthand account of the only survival. Anyone have a link to that? It’s pretty wild.
Here’s a link to Tri-Willow murders. https://www.nytimes.com/1979/11/18/...-4-slayings-upstate-automobile-is-sought.html
I knew one of the dealers on the list as well, John Turner from Austin IN. Bought a lot of coins from him back in my early years as a collector.
LeRoy Hoffman was a coin dealer I dealt with extensively when I was in High School and the first few years of college.
