The BEP is 150 years old and the BEP has issued some rather incredible certificates to mark the 150-th year anniversary. Hmmm, you're right Midas. Odd that they would choose a different Lincoln portrait than the one on their current souvenir card. For what it's worth, the BEP did put out a card with this Lincoln, back in 1984. Here's a link to it on Ken Barr's site: http://www.kenbarr.com/BEP/b71.jpg. It's pretty inexpensive on the secondary market.
Yes, I agree... unfortunately the Federal Reserve is very conservative in issuing banknotes commemorating a special event such as the 150-th anniversary of the BEP. For example in the UK Scotland, Guernsey and Jersey issued banknotes for the Diamong Jubilee of QE II...
