Holy *#&%! Please tell me this is real. I just pulled this out of a lot of "unsearched" wheats from Ebay. I was starting to get frustrated, because all of the coins were 40's and 50's and then I saw it with my naked eye!
Oh ***k that is an awesome find. I do not know the die markers, so I can't say if it is real, but if it is, then WOW!!
I'm drinking heavily now! Just found a VF 1912 S in the same lot...I know it doesn't compare!! but better than the usual I get from Ebay!
Thanks all! I have a few hundred more of these to search through. Got them all for less than $1.50/roll. The first hundred or so were 40-50's so I thought typical Ebay. The other great news is that incredibly about 99% of these are D&S MM's so plenty of RPM's to go searching for. Now I'm going to search for the best way to submit this to a TPG. I'm sure you've all discussed that many times here, so I will not ask you to repeat yourselves.
Thankfully no! And to prove it, here's your name(at least your Coin Talk name) written in Neon(well magic marker) lights next to a 1955 DDO(that's now safely in a a Mylar holder.)
An "unsearched" roll, that truly was unsearched. Unbelievable!!! Awesome find. I hope some of the experts get in here and say if it is authentic (looks like it to me)....
Thanks; I'm hoping to hear from the experts also. RLM's opinion carries a lot of weight with me and he didn't see anything immediately wrong with it, so looking good so far!
1955 dd diagnostic check for faint pair of die polish lines extending downward from the top of the T in Cent...left side of vertical shaft in T...suppose to be hard to see without at least 5x magnification in good light... hope this helps ..good luck:thumb: I am definately no expert...but this is from Pcgs guide to coin grading
In my excitement it hasn't even occured to me to ask for opinions on the grade. I'd take AG any day of course, but I think it's a bit better than that. What do you think?
Truly unreal! Af first I thought this was a hoax (not that you didn't have the penny but that you didn't get it where you say you got it) but I'm giving you the benefit of the doubt. You are truly lucky.
Don't see those, but do see the doubling in the nostrils that coppercoins.com shows as an EDS marker. http://www.coppercoins.com/lincoln/diestate.php?date=1955&die_id=1955p1do001&die_state=eds
Not a hoax at all. I have to admit that I'm selfish here, and have sent the seller a message asking if he'll sell me the rest that he has for a "buy it now" price that we can agree upon. Once I've snatched up all I can, I'll post a link to the completed listing for the auction that yielded this beauty. Hope you understand that business is business!!
doubling on the lower lip as well...you may have the score of the year....or at least the day:thumb: and as far as grade you can check http://coinauctionshelp.com/How_to_grade_lincoln_cents.html
