I saw that many users have a interesting coin for avatar. I searched if there is a topic where this coins are presented and because I have not found one I'll start one now. My Avatar: 5 Lei 1883 Romania 37 mm diameter, 25 g, silver 90%, copper 10% Embossed on the edge: PATRIA SI DREPTUL MEU meaning" `the` HOMELAND AND MY RIGHT denomination "5 L", year 1883, Romanian coat of arms, letter B and wheat ear, the signs of Romanian mint, outer pearl circle --------- See more info: http://romaniancoins.org/5lei1880.html http://romaniancoins.org/5lei1882.html http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carol_I_of_Romania
Mine is a PCGS PR-64 Liberty nickle, no real story behind it. It is just one of my recent purchases. Here is the reverse.
Here's mine: Constans AE 3 CONSTANS P F AVG, laureate & rosette-diademed, draped & cuirassed bust right / GLORIA EXERCITVS, two soldiers holding spears and shields with one standard between them, O on banner. Mintmark: A SIS star Siscia
Mine is an 1883-CC, NGC MS65 that I got in one of Shane's (aka Kryptonitecomics) auctions. By the way, the photos are his, too! I'm not as good as Shane when it comes to taking photos of toners, so I usually "borrow" his. Chris

A true collector sometime Money is not important If I put a tag price on my great piece and someone begging on it to lower it down on my real price then I rather to keep it and a center piece of my collection. Anyway Millions of dollar is very easy to find it If you only focus to your destination you will arrive there safely. Have a great evening too.:thumb::smile
I have not messed with removing this 1971 No S Jefferson Proof Nickel from the holder yet although I have had it in the sealed flip since it arrived at my house on March 1 2011. Some calm day I may send it off for grading. The lines and such you see on it are on the flip in the plastic. I don't know what it will grade. I hope high but I don't care too much since it is a nice looking example. I wanted one since the middle 1970's but finally got it to add to my collection. It is not my most valuable coin but it's up there in the top 5 that I own. It is however, my favorite coin in my collection. The avatar is just another image I worked on of this same coin. The reverse is just as nice. According to Stack's a little over a year ago .... 1971 S-Less Proof Jefferson Nickel: The Guide Book gives the precise figure of 1,655 as the mintage of sets with this rarity. PCGS has certified 164 of these and NGC 54. Total certified by PCGS and NGC: 218
This is what is called a "joke", my friend. Sometimes people get bored and need amusement, so what better to do than look for a laugh. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ As for my own lovely avatar, it's was a re-plated and corroded gem POS received in change (as a dime no less) not long before joining. Unspeakably ugly, but least it's different.
