A few years back, I decided to expand and elaborate on a series of forum posts here and write a book.

This book is what I wish I had when I started collecting coins. It goes into the surfaces, strike, contact marks, luster, and eye appeal of a coin. Why do coins look the way that they do? How does that affect the grade?

How do you look at a stamped disc of metal and turn that into a grade and value? How do you gain the confidence to judge a VG versus en EF? What does that even mean?

Take a look at my book, which has sold hundreds of copies. Read and learn, build your confidence.

And if you are already an expert, this would make an excellent gift! Buy this book, toss in a couple coins, and you're ready to start the next young collector on their journey!
