With all the talk about PCGS fakes and Chinese Counterfeiting, is it part of the ANA's mission to do a better job of preventing, stopping, prosecuting this type of activity? I believe so. In my opinion, it is now time for the ANA to step and take a more proactive role in this. It is far more about just educating folks. Education alone will not stop the problem. While I do not profess to know the answer, the ANA is staffed with experts and I am sure the member base would have ideas as well. I sent a message to the ANA about this topic. While I doubt that some sort of action may occur, I could not sit by without asking the ANA the question. Here is the link to do the same. Maybe they are doing something now. The ANA is a member organization and they are there for their members first. Are you a member of the ANA? Do you support the ANA? If not, you should join and then offer suggestions as to how they should operate.
There is not much ANA can do about other than to educate people how to spot from genuine coins from counterfeits as well as counterfeit slabs. They might have a voice in ebay and be able to take action but these crooks can just take it to elsewhere and can still continue to make money.
