Be kinda fun to post our coins of the 5 good emperors of the Roman Empire.
I will start with a rather poor denarus of Nerva. ' 97 AD(COS II) Reverse - Aequitas

That is a very nice one. I like the reverse especially with Mars. Here is my Trajan.

My personal collection of the '5 good emperors'

AWESOME Cucumbor Beautiful coins, I love the DIVI series done under Decius. And you have some of the nicest I have seen.

Ripley: cool Trajan coin, I like the ones that say 'TRAIANO OPTIMO' on the obverse titles, but I think your obv titles read as follows:
IMP CAES NERVAE TRAIANO AUG GER DAC... and then I cannot read anymore from there, it seems worn off. Very nice bust of such an iconic emperor.

Well, I do not have a Nerva or Marcus Aurelius yet, but I do have the other three.

Here, this first pic is of three of my Hadrian coins, the one on top is an Alexandria Mint Tetradrachm from AD 126/127, the two below are Rome mint Denarii. I really like the large tetradrachm.

The bust of the Hadrian Denarius on the left is my favorite bust style of Hadrian of all time I think(for Hadrian that is), very cool style bust. Seen from the front, not that I don't find the other one beautiful which I do.

The second and third pics are of the obv and rev of the two Hadrian Denarii that are under the Alexandria Tet in the above pic.
Also, on the second denarii, the one with Roma seated on the reverse note the detail on Roma on the reverse, her body, her stomach, the cuirass and shield she is seated upon, and also her face and helmet, quite a large nose but, alot of good detail, same with Victory in her hand.... I really like that coin.... I


The last two photos are my only two coisn of Antoninus Pius, I have a great Faustina Sr. with the Peacock standing on a sceptre on the reverse....but I guess she doesn't quite count in this one..... The last photo has the ITALIA reverse, with ITALIA seated on the globe holding a sceptre and cornucopia. The one above is of AEQUITAS. I couldn't decide whether to post two different angles of the ITALIA denarius since it is such a special type, or just post the one and add the AEQUITAS, I chose the latter.

I guess I didn't quite have time to put up my Trajan coin, I can add it if anyone wants to see. it is the AET AUG one with AETERNITAS holding the head of Sol(the sun) in one hand, and the head of Luna(the moon) in the other, quite a cool design also used by Hadrian.

Ah what the heck, I figure I will post my Trajan Denarius, my only one of that Emperor, as well as the photos of Antoninus Pius' Wife, Faustina Sr, since I love the peacock reverse. I tried to get really good shots of the reverse of the Trajan denarius as well.

Cohen 175, RIC-384.

Obv: DIVA FAUSTINA - Draped bust right.
Rev: CONSECRATIO - Peacock facing right, head left, standing on scepter with knobs on both ends.
2.62 grams.

I just love me that peacock reverse.... even though the flan is a bit jagged and has some cracks, the price was better than right I hope to get a high grade one eventually.... and notice how the headfeathers on the peacock seperate the letters 'R' and 'A' in CONSECR ATIO, I think that is cool.... it looks kinda like a letter but it's the feathers of the peacock.

 

Thats really cool, I'd like to find one eventualy.

Wow, Cucumbor, beautiful coins, I love that thunderbolt reverse! and the first two Dupondii of Nerva and Trajan are gorgeous, as is the coin below of Hadrian!!
Nice colour scheme you have going there too heh.

And Randy, you know I like that Hadrian Denarius, and those two Marcus Aurelius coins are very nice too!

Two twofers Aurelius and Verus commemorated the 200th anniversary of Actium by issuing a Marc Antony copy. Pius commemorated his adoption of Aurelius with the two headed denarius.

Excuse the Commodus, I forgot the thread was the good emperors rather than the whole family. If you see one matching it, I still suggest you buy it. Alexandria mint denarii only show up every so often but half the time they might not be correctly identified by the seller.

 

Doug, it never ceases to amaze me all the cool coins you have!

 

Super 5 Good Emperors all of you !!!!! Interesting on the anniversary/commemorative of Actium. Do all of you find the Emperor Nerva the most difficult to aquire ??? Here are a few of my Hadrians...
