Just read this in the morning paper. http://www.sj-r.com/bicentennial/x1...l-penny-to-go-on-market-in-Springfield-Aug-13
population 50?????? with an expected crowd of 3000-4000???? crimey .. the town is going to disappear under all them visitors lol
Wrong city, Daggarjon. The August unveiling is going to be in Springfield, IL. Those numbers were for the May unveiling in Indiana.
Well Im about three hours or so from Springfield so Im thinking I am going to head down and buy up as many of those suckers as I can and make some money- I assume the Mint is selling them the same day so that could be fun being in Springfield and trying to order the mint sets the same day. But Im seriously considering heading down to Springfield. Can people expect to get these if they arrive to the unveiling that morning or have people been camping out the night before they unveil these things? I dont wanna chance driving down there and not getting any pennies.
From what I've read about the earlier unveilings, if you show up and stand in line you'll get your pennies. If I was close enough to go, I would definitely go. Too bad it's 1,000 miles away from where I am. If you're interested I would recommend that you go. Probably a fun day as well.
How have these pennies been wrapped in the past???? bank wrapper?? mint wrapper?? Does anyone have pics of the previous 2 designs that were given out at these ceremonies?? Thanks
