May not even exist. At the rate of increase of the usage of credit and debit cards and other types of plastic cards, coins may well be a thing of the past in a few more years. Soon some kid will be saying "hey Dad, what was that stuff called cash or money back in the old days".
If they follow past practice, the Prez set will be included, but the Spouse set won't. BTW 11 years of production gives time for George's successor to complete his/her term(s) and get in on the action!
Nope. The Sac's will continue to be produced during the Pres. dollar series. North Dakota made sure of that. Beginning January 1, 2007, and ending upon the termination of the program under paragraph (8), the Secretary annually shall mint and issue such `Sacagawea-design' $1 coins for circulation in quantities of no less than 1/3 of the total $1 coins minted and issued under this subsection.''.
Only if he's been dead for 2 years.. The bill says only deceased Pres. will be honored.......... No coin issued under this sub-section may bear the image of a living former or current President, or of any deceased former President during the 2-year period following the date of the death of that President. I do wonder if a living first lady would get a coin if her husband were dead.
Mint sets include all the coins released by the mint for circulation for that given year. So, just like the state quarters the Pres. dollars will be included. Its the Territory quarters that are in doubt. No one in the Senate will push the bill.
We will always have coins. Even if they are only produced as collectables. The Govt. would never give up the Seignorage.
Okay, the only chance there's going to be any terriorial quarters is if it makes it into the confrence committee and the House demands it, then the 2009 mint set may very well have only ten coins in it.
