I wonder how much longer until they come out. Maybe ND86 can give us an update. Peace out. (Should be "Presidential" without the O in the thread title, sorry.)
A minor question here. I notice that there are storage boxes for the complete proof sets. Since they will offer the presidential coins in the proof set in a third lens, will these boxes be able to accommodate the entire set. I know the mint is offering some of these boxes. Dealers have boxes and I am assuming that they got them from the mint. Also will this delay push back the issuance of the regular mint proof sets. Thanks
Once again, thank you for the update. I just won't hold my breathe on these, it could be a long time. Thanks again.
My understanding is the presidential dollar proof sets will be completely separate from the regular proof sets. So this year there will be 5 different proof sets: State quarters only, clad State quarters only, silver penny thru half dollar, clad penny thru half dollar, silver And the presidential dollars by themsleves. Might fit in the boxes, but may need an extra slot for them or something.
Actually I think it would be State quarters only, clad State quarters only, silver Clad Set, with Cent thru half dollar, Sac Dollar, Clad State quarters & Presidential dollars Silver Set, with Cent thru half dollar, Sac Dollar, Silver State quarters & Presidential dollars Presidential dollars Set ND86, do I have that right or can you make the adjustments... I think I'm pretty close according to what I've read in all the mags and on the Mint's site..
I was under the impression from the Mint's site that the clad and silver sets will not contain presidential dollars, just Sacagaweas, and the presidential dollars will only be sold as solo sets.
Well, you could be right... I just went back and looked and I can not find anything either way... I can only tell what they did in 2006... Which is kinda like comparing Apples to Oranges as the new Dollars were not avalible then... I guess we'll have to see...
Think they will sell the four piece presidential proof set as a seperate unit or as part of the complete mint proof set,you know adding the 3rd lens. As mentioned above we will just have to wait and see. At work "I think" and "I assume" are considered pretty much the same. Ya'll know what they say about assuming. peasant day to all.
Not to bust your balls man, but I don't get it either... and just to make sure I went back and re-read... I though you mighta been smokin a lil somethin somethin... Sorry, I know it sucks the fun outta it when you have to explain your humor to someone, but as you can tell I is not a Bright man....
Guess we'll find out soon enough... when the proof sets become avaiable it will be pretty clear how they're sold just by looking at the Mint's site. Right now though only the quarter only proof sets are available for sale. Mint still hasn't announced a specific date for the sale of the full proof sets (which may or may not include presidential dollars, though Mint employees I've talked to at the Denver Mint seem to be under the impression they won't; whether the beleifs of the specific employees I talked to are authoritative or not I can't really judge; they may have just been guessing for all I know!) and the presidential dollar sets; they still only say they'll be available for sale in "Spring 2007." The Mint's site still doesn't seem to be fully clear one way or the other on the matter of whether the full sets have the presidential dollars or not. My impression may or may not be correct; I'm just guessing based on the pictures which don't seem to indicate a third lens with the 2007 sets. Then again, obviously they're not pictures of the actual product yet and they coulds be replaced with pictures that show they do have it later. Again, we should know soon one way or the other... when they go up for sale.
If you go back thru previous posts on the subject you'll see that the Pres dollars will be included in the annual Proof sets and Mint sets.
What is the source for that? Is this information directly from the Mint or just a different guess from mine? (Don't read an accusatory tone into that; I'm just asking the question out of sincere curiosity.) Everyone I've talked to was under the impression the regular full sets will not include the presidential dollars, and that's what I was basing my opinion on. Do you have more authoritative information?
