That 1993 Coin Show

Discussion in 'Error Coins' started by Bobs Tavern Arm, Jun 27, 2019.

  1. A rolled thick planchet. Doubled upper inside of Lincoln Memorial. Stutter Strike. CONECA DEFINES: “A die trial will only leave the central portions raised.” There was a die adjustment going into 1993 and AM show remains of both a far and close variety. Either someone can pick apart each appearance for a multi error weak strike or chose to see how it works to support one defining error... such as clearance (stutter strike) and pattern thickness of planchet.....right when there is a reason for a die adjustment.

I thought you were going to tell us about a coin show you attended in 1993 o_O

Your Cent is just a worn die strike. Both sides were struck through grease. Look that up.

Not a weak strike. Not a die adjustment strike. Not a stutter strike.

Did you weigh it? The reason it might look like a thicker than normal planchet is because it is also a Misaligned Die strike which caused the Rim to raise up a bit. I don't think it was struck on a rolled thick planchet.

Here is an example from my personal collection.. Attributed, graded and certified!

Another worthless coin. Well at least it's worth face value.
