I very recently posted both of my "dolphin-rider" coins -- a Tarentum nomos and a Roman Republican denarius of L. Lucretius Trio -- so for now I'll just post my own Istros coin: Thrace, Istros. 400-350 BCE. AR Drachm. Obv. Two facing male heads, one inverted / Rev: Sea eagle on dolphin, ISTRIH above, globule under eagle’s tail. SNG.BM.249. 19 mm., 5.36 g. (I can't decide which way is supposed to be "up" on the obverse. So this was a random choice.)
Mine is right-side up on the left & yours is upside-down on the left. I forget if one of the varieties is a more common than the other. I will see your nymph and raise you four dolphins from Syracuse: Actually I did not get the coin from Syracuse. I got the coin from JA here at CoinTalk.
I like the flan bending strike. Mine is rather normal in comparison. Weights on my coins span many years and three different scales. I really should reweigh all my coins but I'm not all that confident in my current scale so that may not happen for all coins at least. I am very unclear on when a weight difference is a matter of standards changing over date, variability over an issue, or condition of my specimens. 0.2g These two are earlier fractions. What fractions are less clear. We can call them hemiobols but that does not mean the guy that made them would agree. 0.4g swimming right 0.39g swimming left
