Recently I have a lot of help from people on coin talk. As I am 14 years old It's hard to get money. People have sent me free coins, and supplies. I want to say thanks to all! I bet there's more help to come. I hope to become one of the best collectors of America! Although I am starting small so far, my collection is growing. Even though I don't have any graded coins yet haha, my collection has mainly ranged in U.S. old coins. Thanks!
Get a good education so that you can afford the coins you desire. Sure, collect in the mean time but make your education your primary goal. Most of us old folk have lived long enough to take advantage of a life's worth of work which can now afford us the pleasure's and treasure's we have. Only through dedication first to education and then to other pursuits will you be able to attain your goal. Education First - Collecting Second
If you have the desire and ambition to become one of the best collectors in the United States than you will figure out how to accomplish that goal over time. It's just a matter of how many brick walls are you willing to break down in order to get there. If your answer is as many as it takes then you have a good attitude and you will go far in life and in the world of coin collecting. If you let one brick wall stop you then you are going to get stuck and may never accomplish your goals. Have a good night, hope to see you at the coin shows in the years to come.
So what series do you collect? Do you have any books on the series? I wish you luck in your collecting goals.
A good friend of mine gave me this link. Perhaps it will serve you well just as it did for me. http://blog.davidlawrence.com/index.php/reference-books/the-complete-guide-to-buffalo-nickels/
That's not a bad idea. I have a collection of world coins, all of which are coins from other countries my parents and grandparents visited in the last century. Mostly Mexican pesos and bermuda coins.
