So this may have been discussed before but I am going to ask anyway. I ordered the 3-roll set of Texas NP Quarter issue from the Mint. This include a roll of San Francisco or "S" Quarters. I know they are not producing them to be distributed to the banks, FR, etc. but is this the first time this has been done? I don't remember any "S" mintmarks released recently unless in proof sets, special editions, etc. Will they have a smaller mintage, and are they worth saving? Are they going to keep doing this on future issues of the NP quarters?
The mint has been releasing "S" mint business strikes for several years. I have found a few in circulation even.
The San Francisco Mint began producing business strike ATB quarters beginning in 2012. It has continued and will continue until the Alabama quarter dollar in 2021.
I collect the rolls of S quarters I am just holding on to them I see the prices going up on loose ones!
The Mint has been doing it for years and I'm sure they will continue to do so after the next design change in a couple of years.
NP quarters? NP quarters? I had to read down to @gronnh20 post to find out what the heck they are! Chris

Will probably by a bag of the San Antonio ones too just because I like the design. Will sit on them for awhile just to see what they are gonna do. I also keep any S coins I find roll hunting. They are few and far between here in florida. Will post a pic of one I found tonight . The first in a long time. It’s a 2003 s proof Maine quarter. Worth .25 cents. But still neat and a keeper in my eyes.
