Found this one pound silver Remember the Alamo 1986. In a airtight packaging I'm not taking it out of. I know the photos aren't great but a lot of folks probably haven't seen one. Any special value over bullion ? I think it's beautiful regardless.

There are collectors who might want a medal like this solely for its beauty while others might like it because of its historical reference. However, its value might only be determined by anyone wanting to buy it. If two or more collectors were to be "chasing" it at auction, there is no telling how high it could go.

You'd definitely find some very proud buyer down in Texas! Since we can't shoot an exact price I would say to NOT sell for melt. This is very collectible.

Nice. I always thought the Texas centennial commemorative was one of the more attractive commemoratives of the period. I bet it is uber sexy blown up to a pound!

Any idea how many of these were minted?

What is the serial number on the medal? I don't think it has any extra value besides silver value.

One sold in 2008 for $431.25 on Heritage including buyers premium. Silver was approximately 22 an ounce and numbered 0584. So it was a little bit over spot.
But honestly it is anyone's guess in the right setting what it would go for.
