Hello. The weight of this silver Tetradrachm is 16.81 g. The coin is very common and represents Alexander The Great. It is curved, and I can distinguish letters MI and Pi Rho(PR) if I'm not mistaken. I enjoy your precious comments which allowed me to acquire this Greek coin. Thank you.. Charles
This is a Seleukid tetradrachm issued under Seleukos I, in name of Alexander. I believe Babylon mint.
Thanks THC. That's cheerful news indeed. I don't know why the famous song " On the River Babylon " came to my mind... Charles
C71. Are you referring to my coin up ? How can I tell and make sure it's genuine? Shall I take more pictures by other means than a scanner. Charles
i don't know 7C, the weight is good...it just looks a little soft in the features and like it may have casting bubbles. could be wrong.
I admit that your OP-coin looks kinda creepy ... it kinda looks a bit like your last thread-coin (that snake-bin coin) => ummm, maybe your friend has recently stumbled across a hoard of fakes? I like you, 7Charles Cheers
