    I prefer light from the top and on the face rather than so low highlighting the back of the neck. Raising the light so it did not hit the coin at such a sharp angle would also help.

    This is my first real camera set up, I'm just getting to know it.

    Nice photo. I always suggest shooting coins from several light angles and comparing them in the hope of learning which is best for that individual coin. The last reverse might be a bit better if the light came from 11 o'clock rather than the top (high noon) and the obverse might be a bit better if the light came from 1 o'clock. The only way to know for sure is to try it. That is why we like digital cameras. You can shoot 100 pictures and throw out the 99 mistakes at no cost of wasted film.
