    Hey Guys
Here is a new pick-up of mine--got it from a friend that wasn't happy with the price that Heritage offered him for the coin so he offered it to me at what he thought was a fair deal and I agreed.

Its graded by NGC---and it has a nice gold tone on the REV---I bought this coin and another one from the guy sight un-seen and was glad I did.
Jefferson nickels are hard to grade IMHO---nickel of course is harder than silver or gold so marks and nicks are more detrimental to the coins grade--luster and strike play the big part I think in the grading---this coin is tricky---so watch out

Looks like a 66 FS, though I'm not familiar with Jeffs.

I would say it MS67 to 69. Based on the fact that I dont see anything other then what seem to be blemish's on the rim. Compleatly clear feild. And a sharp Full Strike. Thats a keeper even if its only a few years old.

I would say MS69. Looks like near 6 steps. Only problem, it's a common date coin unless it is the frosted one..which I assume it is.

  6. Leadfoot

    Leadfoot there is no spoon

    MS 68 FS

    Might even grade higher.

    What a specimen.

Most of the time I don't post photos larger than the size above because I think that is about the best size there is to look at a coin and judge a grade---but here are some larger ones....I've been working at taking better photos and I think these are turning out alittle better....

I'm gonna go with the two Ed's and sayMS69 FS just to be ornery.I can't see any flaws or problems worth mentioning.I don't think I've ever seen a nicer UNC nickel.

I've got another coin (not the same date) with just as good strike....maybe someday I'll post photos of it.

After looking at the larger pictures
I am still going to say MS 69, Maybe even a shot at MS 70

Nice! Matte Finish, Probably MS 69. Although there is something behind Jefferson's hair, but it could be on the slab!?
    So, perhaps 68?

No one has hit the grade---well in one way you have but lets just say that you havn't put down what NGC did.
