While at my coin dealers shop yesterday i noticed a new item in the display case. An unopened $500 BEP pack of 1953 $5 red seal US notes. The dealer told me he had recently purchased it from an estate sale and was selling it for $2000. I asked about buying one note but he didn't want to break up the pack (can't really blame him). Very tempted to buy the pack but realized i couldn't go without food for more than a day or two. lol
He is very wise to not break up such an old and historic pack. Original packs that old are quite rare as dealers often succumb to greed and quickly split them up to make more profit.
