The surfaces look very rough -
    like the coin has 'enviornmental
    surface issues'.

The I in Liberty is just flattened
    from contact/damage (circulation).

It's not an error coin of any type,
    I'm sorry to say.

The letter 'I' got messed up after the coin left the mint (it's not a mint error). This coin was made in 1981 and has no "plating process". Only 1982-present cents are plated (copper plated zinc).

I think the coin has a pattern of linear plating blister's,
I do have at least one of these in Mint state,
I wonder if this is what it would look like, worn?

The coin got messed up after mint don't sound right because I've seen enough messed up after mint. looking at this it is twisted like perfect and looks like a tie. Even though it may not be worth anything I thought it cool and does not look after mint to me.

It didn't leave the mint that way.
