I guess we all saw or read about what people have been paying for the new Lincoln Cent Rolls on ebay over the last few days. Tonight I was watching some shows I had recorded over the weekend. Low and behold they were selling the '09 Lincoln Log Cabin Cent. For $49.95 plus shipping and handling this is what one would get: 1. A MS-67 P and D slabbed by ANACS. They said MS-67 is the highest any of theirs have graded. 2. A certified roll of P's and D's also by ANACS. Both rolls were in plastic graded as "MS-65 or Better". 3. An ANACS form for free submission of two coins to be graded by them. 4. An opportunity to sign-up for their auto ship for the remaining three at the same price to include the ANACS two free coin submission form. I sure hope the people paying a $100.00 to $200.00 for a raw roll on ebay didn't watch these shows. One last tidbit I got my lincoln dollars the other day and they are beautiful. I like on the uncirculated more than the proof the excellent job that was done on his eyes.
Not a super deal, but the best I've seen so far. I'm still going to get mine for face at the bank or local gas station. If you can send any coin you wish for grading (not necessarily a 2009 cent), this deal would be almost worth it.
re: #4 I think when you accept the offer you are automatically signed up for the remaining three issues. If you do nothing, they will be sent (in May, Aug and Nov) and your credit card will be charged. However, you can opt out of the rest of the set at any time.
Unless these were 'put together' rolls, there's no way they could be sure an original roll would grade this way. Paul
First PCGS with the Obama coins and now ANACS with this "deal"... is NGC the only TPG left with any class? Has NGC tried to pull anything like this? (I won't even get into that whole first strike nonsense.)
Per graded rolls will pass no one is buying them! I think that many the same folk that got the gold plated state quarter will buy them too. It is a shame!
