    I only like odd metal coins if they were used on actual circulation coins - like the manganese in the war nickels of 1942-5. Otherwise they are cr@p.

    How about if they were used as medals or commemoratives? I know Russia actually circulated and used platinum coinage, but how about the US commemorative platinum coins?
