"Listed as BU UNC". Sure it was. No slab; buyer likes to gamble.

Buyer was Bruce Morelan, who has owned the top set of Trade Dollars previously, top set of Seated Dollars, and has serious numismatic skills. I think it's pretty cool that he still pokes around in the eBay brush pile and makes nice picks from time to time.

Nice coin. I call it a cameo proof I do see some hairlines in the pic I’d rather have that one in high unc I have a nice 74 proof

Called a BU, but listed as strike type as proof, and in the Superior auction sale in 1975 it was listed as a brilliant proof. I think it also sold in the ebay auction for the price of a proof. So it really isn't that much of a cherrypick.

Interesting you think he already paid full market price as is?
I figured there is still a couple grand upside to this pickup.

Looks like the upside is all about the grade. If it goes 65 CAM or DCAM I think it had alot of upside
