From my collection...below, find digital images of a Swiss 5 Rappen of 1934. It appears that part of the date and obverse inscription are doubled. In hand the ‘1’, ‘C’, ‘O’ and ‘N’ appear tripled. Is there is re-engraving or re-punching at work here? Possible new variety? 1. Obverse 2. Magnified image of obverse date. The arrow farthest to the right indicates a nearby die crack. 3. It looks like machine/mechanical doubling. It's caused when the die becomes a little loose in the holder/keeper. It's pretty common in many countries. It adds nothing to the value and, many times, reduces it.
So, MD and a combination of some die deterioration? The C shows some light split serifs. Even on the tip of the curve.
Yes the "C" shows maybe repunch or die deterioration there, but, to me, the other anomalies look like MD.
