...that I can't find any information about it... it's made in 1991,for commemorating 700 years of founding CONFEDERATIO HELVETIA - Confederation Helvetique. The coin is so small,it's just 7 gr. NO DENOMINATION!!
That is a medal, not a coin. Switzerland did issue two coins on this occasion (a 20 fr silver coin and a 250 fr gold coin) but this one seems to be some private issue. The CoA in the upper picture, next to man and the woman, is the one of Schwyz, one of the Swiss cantons (sort of states) and part of the first or "old" federation. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Switzerland#Old_Swiss_Confederacy So maybe this piece is part of a series. Cannot decipher the "signature" at 8 o'clock next to the couple, and the mintmark (or whatever it is) at roughly 5 o'clock on the other side, sorry. But they may be helpful when it comes to identifying the piece and its origin ... Christian
at 5 O'clock on the reverse says: [999] HF,it's not a mintmark,it's a sign that refers it's pure silver and maybe HF stands for Helvetia Federation???? L. NICOLLIER is the signature at 8 O'clock Hope these infos might help, thank u
Nicollier was probably the designer, but the name does not ring a bell here ... The "HF" might refer to Huguenin Frères, a Swiss manufacturer of medals, badges, etc. The company is part of Faude & Huguenin http://www.faude-huguenin.ch/ today. Christian
Wow,Expert knowledge! I agree,HF might refer to Huguenin Frères,as long as the coin doesn't have any denomination. Thanks for letting me know about Faude & Huguenin , Also the manufactured Omega's moon walk commermoration medal that I have seen in many jewellery shops' display. http://www.faude-huguenin.ch/de/dyn...ww.faude-huguenin.ch/de/produkte/muenzen.html
