Very nice! You got a real deal for that kind of toning!

Really, the toning os that desirable? Is that a keeper, or one to sell on your site? If for sale, how much would you expect to get? It's pretty, but not worth the cash to me. But I'm a newbie ;)

I am not going to say it's for sale, rules here you know. Seriously I have not decided. I think it is at least worth 3X what I paid on the open toner market. Thats about 1/2 what many would charge, this date/mm/grade color coin has sold for upward of $150 many many times.

For now, it is my collection.

nice find, holiday weekends are nice for this reason, if you have time to search.

I always project the end dates when I sell on the bay just for this reason. I learned the hard way and had a bunch of decent coins go for next to zip last year on Superbowl Sunday.

Now I plan ahead and have made some decent buys during a holiday weekend.

End times are important as well. I've snagged a few nice coins in the past because the ending times were very late at night or very early morning, on either coast. I think some people sit around puting things up for auction at all hours of the night not even thinking about that. So, on the days when I'm up at some forsaken hour getting ready for work, I always check.

Good Idea!! I only end my coins on Saturday or Sunday and if it is a 3 day weekend I don't list anything.

Last year I won some very nice coins for 23% of retail price. It was christmas eve. I always do an extra search of coins on holidays and big events like Superbowl Sunday.

    End Times are very important.

Here are some studies of the best time and day to end an auction.

I have made that mistake myself AJ., Selling nice coins ending on holidays and/or special days that sold for half of their value. Live and learn!

I live on the East coast and end times are listed in PDT, whats the best way to split the difference? Ive always wondered.

I also live on the east coast but I still just list my coins between 6pm and 7pm. That way it is night time for most of the people in the US looking.

Great buy Jack, I can see why you might keep it for yourself.

A month or so ago I picked up a 1869 Two Cent, MS63, RPD, for $140, the auction ended really late at night mid-week. I was the only bidder!

    Timing is everything!

WOW- THANKS EVERYONE FOR THE INFO :thumb::thumb:. I just started selling on ebay and I deduced this info roughly on my own but the stats are awesome. Question- times are PST, MST, or EST. I think these coins sell in the midwest a lot? Anyone know.
