Frank's correct, it's machine doubling. The real error with Susan B's is the fact that the US Mint made them in the first place. :)

This coin had "PC in it's infancy" written all over it which is typical of ANY decisions made by the US Mint/US Treasury Department!

A gold colored coin had been advised but they didn't listen. Frank Gasparro proposed a Liberty Head design but they didn't listen. Instead, they thought about the gpld colored coin for about 21 FREAKING YEARS and decided that it was a pretty good idea! Of course, the other half of the equation was in NOT eliminating the dollar bill but what else could be expected from an organization that is completely motivated by "political appearance" instead of actual "FUNCTIONALITY"!

They are so far removed from decent coin designs and implementation that it's almost prophetic on what they'll make next. Some flat, low relief, artificially enhanced piece of junk that flippers suck up to create an artificially inflated market!

Exactly when was the last, honest to goodness collectible created by the United States Mint?

The US Mint is being run by political appointee drones that have absolutely no idea what they are doing so they continue to do it.
