Hey, I just wanted your opinion on this Kennedy. The toning looks legit, but I simply want confirmation of the toning and maybe even a grade. I'm saying around MS65-66. Thanks for helping!
Well, I certainly wouldn't call it "super" toned. It definitely appears original. I'd call it a coin with mostly average eye appeal and a splash of rainbow toning obverse. The overall average to negative toning on the rest of the coin sorta counteracts any positives of that coin, to make it a net neutral. That looks like a classic 65 to me.
I'm in it for $6 at MS64. The reverse is too weak for anything more. The obverse cheek distraction is a little much. I'm down to $5. I only let dark toning slide on a very narrow band of rim. Really, I'm more at $2.75 now. http://www.coinflation.com/coins/1965-1970-Silver-Kennedy-Half-Dollar-Value.html
I love it! We've got quite a few that have toned out like that. In my observation, that toning started from the perimeter and moved inward. We have 90%-ers like that, at various stages.
