I love good PMD for entertainments purpose. I noticed this super strange looking anomaly. It appears to be raised ever so slightly but its too hard to tell. My limited knowledge knows of nothing in the minting process or "planchet" type error that would cause such a nice honeycomb design/shape. Its not on the device but kind of underneath. Could this have been something on the planchet before it got to the dies? Or, and most likely, its just some super stupid PMD. Just to be sure, I have to ask, is there anything that could even cause such a shape before it left the mint???
I think it's somehow related to crop circles. I also think it's time to back away from the microscope for a bit. (If I had to guess, I'd speculate that some sort of decoration (glitter?) had landed on the coin and stayed long enough to influence the coin's toning. I'm guessing that the pattern only looks three-dimensional. But I am, first and foremost, guessing...)
You can see it with the naked eye....maybe not the little detail but it looks funny. Who knows. I love my bulk buy of 2X2s!!! LOL!!! Into the "interesting PMD or odd something on the planchet" 2X2. Thats going to be hard to write that out on that thing. God help my collection. When I die and someone looks through my coins that Ive saved they will say.......what the hell was wrong with him?
